Awesome exhaust with one small issue. First off it takes a bit to get the exhaust, if its not a common in stock model. Mine being a 16 BMW R12R I had to order it with a estimated 3-5 week wait. It took longer than that because in august Italy is on holiday and since they are made to order, the skeleton crew needs more time to make em. That being said, It came from Motovation as soon as they got it in from Italy.
It came in a nicely packed box, Link pipe was bubble wrapped, The hardware was in a bag bag and the can itself was in it's own box, wrapped and cradled. The hardware bag was a little worrying because the finishing washer for the hanger was bouncing around with the rest of the nuts and bolts, so it had a few small scratches on it, but nothing major.
The install was easy except for two things. First, the band clamp given in the hardware kit barely fits the flange. I had to tap it on with a rubber mallet, then install the exhaust on the bike. I only got 1 turn on the clamp bolt before it was tight. They could improve on this by buying a bent T bolt type clamp. This one has a straight bolt which impeded the opening and closing of the clamp.
Second, the bolt or the nut they supply you for the hanger, disintegrated on me. I installed the strap and bolt, then started to tighten it up when I started to feel crunching in the bolt. The threads on the bolt started to fall apart in the nut and seized. I had to put an impact on the bolt to strip it out a bit then get a multitool to cut the bolt between the band halves. Once I removed the bad bolt, I replaced it with some stainless hardware I had in the garage. The bolt looked good so it was just a bad bolt it seems.
That being said, the exhaust is perfect. Those two small hardware issues aside, the system is really high quality. The TIG welds on the link pipe are perfect. The fit and finish is perfect. Worth every penny.
The sound is amazing. This is first slip on I've bought in years that has a very functional dB killer. Its held in place with a large circlip. It removes very easily, if you have circlip pliers, otherwise it could be a pain. With the dB killer in, it sound almost stock but with more bass and bark. With the dB killer out, its loud but a perfect kind of loud. It has a nice rumble it idle, going thru the gears it has a nice volume level. If you go down the road in 4th sitting low in the rev's, its loud enough to be noticeable but quiet. At WOT it sounds like a GP bike. I have to say on decel it almost has a ducati like hum to it.
Overall its a great slip on. Worth the wait and worth every penny. If SC can pay at little more attention to the hardware it'd 100% perfect.
